Founder Spotlight: Suzanne Biegel

Fearless. Joyful. Open. Curious.
Suzanne Biegel was all this and passionate about connecting people and catalysing real, lasting change.
A globally recognised leader in impact investing and gender-lens investing, with decades of experience across finance, entrepreneurship, and social impact, Suzanne had an indefatigable fuel for action.
She played a pivotal role in advancing the role of women in shaping capital for good.
Importantly, she was a beacon of light, hope and inspiration for everyone her life touched.
As the founder of Women in Social Finance, Suzanne created this community to address a clear gap: the need for a trusted, high-level network where women could connect, collaborate, and support one another, and have great food together too.
Her work focused on unlocking capital for women and advancing gender equity within financial systems.
Towards the last years of her life, she created Heading for Change, the donor-advised fund she founded together with her husband and started to accelerate proven climate and biodiversity solutions with women as agents of change.
Suzanne also loved food, music, nature and the arts (especially unique pieces of jewellery and black sustainable garments made by women-led enterprises…)
Today, her vision and her inspiration continue to guide the community as a space where women come together not only to advance their careers but to shape the future of finance…
… and get real things done!
“She was an epic human with a long tail of goodness that follows her still like a comet”
~ Amy Seidman.
